I just want to say thank you to everyone that has poured time, money, and prayer into my ministry efforts at UT Austin Chi Alpha. I am sorry that my newsletters have been few and far between but I have decided to start blogging about what God is doing and sending this out in the 2019 year. So here, by sections, is just a few of the amazing things God has done this past year.
SMALL GROUP:
Through this semester of leading The Lord has shown me just how specifically he knows each of my girls and me. He has used our relationships to not only grow them but myself. The Lord has been faithful with bringing me girls to disciple. I have about 6 girls that are regulars that I have been able to pour into and cheer as they experience transformations. Then I also have another 6 I am pursuing and have been able to share the gospel with. I have seen one girl come to Christ this semester, then several others I have been able to have continuing conversations with them and seeking answers to some really awesome questions with them.
TABLING:
This past semester I have had the privilege to table on campus to bring awareness to our services and to have conversations about Jesus on campus every Thursday. I have had conversations with many people of other religions, no religion, people from other countries and been able to share the Gospel. Other times I have met other believers I have been able to encourage. This has strengthened my faith and had tested my knowledge of the bible. Their was several times this years I had to say I don't know and seek the truth to questions I have never considered. In other times I was able to lean into the Holy Spirit who was able to answer and talk with people better than I ever could have done on my own.
ADMINISTRATIVE & CHI ALPHA OTHER:
I have learned a lot about the different parts of what it takes to run a ministry. I have seen the inner workings of thousands of excel/words docs, conversations after conversation, store runs during events that it takes to make services/event happen. I have also seen the hours of prayer and trust that is required when working in ministry. Whether is be from a social media post, to a worship service timeline, to an event grocery list you have to be willing to submit it to the Lord. It is very easy to think we can get everything done in our own strengths and have great intentions when doing it. But the Chi Alpha staff has done an amazing job at modeling for me how to trust the Lord. When the budget is overwhelming, when volunteers may be in short supply, and casting vision for the future they trust the Lord.
These are just a very brief description of the ways the Lord has been faithful to be this past year. I hope to be better this year with sharing my journey and the topics the Lord is teaching me about. I am excited to share this year with all of you!
If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer. Matthew 21:22
Prayer Points:
I need to raise $3000 for my support for the spring
I want to really start fire for prayer and will be launching some initiatives
My sister and sister-in law are having babies in the next 2 weeks
Next year I graduate so that the Lord would begin to cast vision for that
