Welcome to my February Update! I start tour with my awesome team March 1! That means I have about one week before coming together with them and start touring Tx & Louisiana sharing the Gospel!
The team consists of 6 others and me traveling in two different cars. We will be staying in a string of host homes through out the region. Host homes are lovely people who are letting us stay at their house while in their city. All we have is our carry on suitcases, Jesus, and each other. I am pretty excited.
Circuit Riders sums up what is does with, "Save the Lost, Revive the Saved, and Train them all." This is why we are going out in a global pandemic, and in general. In every season we take the precautions to be safe and respectful, while still following the call of the great commission in Matthew 28. There is a world full of people that are spiritually dead with no hope. It is not just a missionary call, but the call of every Christian to share the hope we know. I feel called to encourage brothers and sisters in Christ, revive their strength to keep plowing for their city. My hearts goal, for this tour and life, is to see Holy Spirit directed discipleship explode in America and world-wide.
I just finished the book of acts, that talks about the early church and what Paul faced as one of the main leaders. Paul and others got stoned, beaten, imprisoned, or killed. After all of those things the individuals themselves rejoiced saying what an honor to be persecuted for the name of Jesus. That challenged me, I can get in a swirl when I think I don't have money for bills or one non-believer friend gets upset about what I believe. These guys in the face of deadly persecutions, not only preached boldly, but sang praises and prayed in the midst of it. Why do I let fear of what people are gonna think or say stop me at times from sharing the gospel? How selfish is that of me, if I know they are not living in relationship with the creator, without a hope in eternity. I need to love people more, have a greater burden for souls. I have been praying that I would begin to love people wildly, and that only my love for the Lord and love for people would drive my boldness. I would not do it because "I should", rather doing it because of God-given love for people and understanding of eternity.
I challenge you reading this, to ask God to help you love your people and strangers more, that he would give you eyes to see how He loves. No matter how much we grow and love there is always more room to grow when compared to the perfect love of Jesus. That is a fact to rejoice in! I am so excited to see what God does on tour and in your life. Please share stories back with me as Jesus changes your life as well.
